Best saw blades on the marketI hope this is helpful to others, so they do not make the same mistake as me. If you own a wood-cutting band saw, and you attempt to cut metal on it, you WILL be disappointed ! I went to LENOX's website to determine which blade was appropriate for cutting 440 C stainless. The Diemaster 2, Vari-Raker was listed. I installed it, tensioned, adjusted, and broke-in according to instructions. I Used CRC SL2512 oil to help cut and increase my blade life. I could not even make it 1-inch ! After a call to the technical support at LENOX, the technician asked me which saw I was using (I own a Rigid 14-inch with 93.5" blade), and he told me "that's your problem". To CORRECTLY use this blade, I have to have a cutting rate of 120 Feet Per Minute (FPM) or less. My band saw blade rotates at about 10 times that ! As a result, it simply burned its way through the metal. So BE WARNED - use this blade on a METAL CUTTING band saw, and you will love it (excellent steel, excellent website, and EXCELLENT technical support at LENOX). Use it on a wood-cutting band saw, and you will be writing a review like this one (UNLESS you can vary the blade rotation speed to the correct rate). (I wish they would have put a warning in the description for feed rate and blade speed...it would prevent A LOT of this type of problem).I actually got this to cut wood and it works beautifully. I bought a very dead Sears 12" band saw not long ago for $40 and put it back together with all new parts where needed. Ordered this blade in 80" and have been very happy with it. It was recommended on a website blade comparison as a good mix of price, quality and durability. Seems very well made and cuts smooth as butter. I'm not planning to cut metal with it, but maybe aluminum if I really need it. I suspect it would work fine, but the speed is wrong for metal... I'd have to get a different motor pulley... Clearly much better than most of the cheaper blades I have seen at local hardware stores. Delivery took a couple of weeks or so, but I knew that when I bought it. Glad I waited and got this one. No complaints so far!Took 3 tries to finally get a blade that was close enought to satisfactory in regards to the blade weld/ running smooth. The first 2 were horribly off and caused extra work In figuring out the issue. This blade is great though.Really strong. I love it.I use this blade with the Harbor Freight band saw, and it works wonderful. I have cut aluminum, stainless, mild steel, high carbon steel, and even titanium with this blade. I have made 50+ cuts and it still cuts like butter no matter what I throw at it.I made 20 or so cuts with this blade on .120 wall 4x4 tubing, cut fast and straight, I run a low rpm and no oil, just some candle wax. Don't forget to break in your blade first.Have made multiple multiple cuts with this blade and is still doing the job. Great bandsaw blade!awesome quality and delivery. decided to go with high quality manufacturer this time compared to low budget brands and extremely happy I did. delivery was extremely quick. thankyouNot perfectly balanced. A bit of a wobble at the weld seem but pretty Impressive for the price. Seems sturdy. Depends on what you are doing. Great for solid bar stock on hobby band saw. A little too aggressive for structural shapes like tube and channel etc but havent had a problem yet.Quality product
